UNIT TWO: Professional Theatre in Context

Outcome 1: Select 2 contrasting styles/genres of professional theatre from this list;

Comedy – Tragedy – Agit-prop – Socio-political – Historical – Melodrama – Classical – Pantomime – Physical theatre – Musical theatre – Puppet theatre – Farce

We have chosen COMEDY and CLASSICAL (with a focus on Greek Tragedy specifically)

In your report you must;

– Identify 5 key elements of each style (research task)

– Identify 3 relevant texts/productions you have studied and/or explored

– Explain how these ‘key elements’ were featured/used throughout your experimentation and/or performance

WORD COUNT: 500 minimum (250 per style)
